How Do I Become a CNA? ↓
If you want to be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida, you must do two things:
- Take the state certification exam through Prometric. There are 2 parts to the exam; written and clinical. You must pass both parts to pass the entire exam. For more information about the exam, you can go to Prometric’s web site: www.prometric.com.
- Pass a background check. The background check is done as part of the application for the state exam. You don’t have to do anything except answer the questions truthfully. It is not necessary to take a class before taking the state exam. You can “challenge” the exam by calling Prometric at 888-277-3500 and arranging to register for the exam. If you pass the exam, and pass your background check, you will become a licensed certified nursing assistant.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? If you know how to successfully answer 60 written questions, and perform 22 different skills, you are ready to challenge the exam. If you are not ready to take the exam or just want to feel more comfortable, you may want to consider one of our classes. We offer classes to complete beginners as well as classes to people who just need a refresher or review. To see our classes, click on Classes.
If you have any questions about how to sign up for the exam or what our classes can offer, please contact us and we’d be glad to help (Contact Us).
